Discover Primary Science & Maths

Science helps children to develop basic scientific ideas and understanding, which will enable them to explore and investigate their world.  

The four strands of the Science programme taught in Our Lady's Abbey are Living Things, Materials, Energy and Forces and Environmental Awareness and Care.

The school has received numerous Discover Primary Science and Maths Awards of Excellence for our efforts in fostering an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) among the children.  

We have regular guest speakers to the school to during Science Week, Engineers' Week and Maths Week to develop an awareness of Science in the everyday lives of our pupils and to promote an interest in Science.
