3rd Class News

Welcome to 3rd Class at Our Lady's Abbey

In our classroom we have many lovely things. We have a reading corner with beanbags so that we can relax and read in comfort. We all get a turn on these. We have been busy decorating the classroom with all our art including dot art, weaving and scratch art.

Swimming has begun again and we love going to the University of Limerick Arena every Friday. We love playing yard leagues at lunch time. This term we are playing tag rugby and spike ball and also it is our first time being play leaders where we help the younger children at lunch time play games like skipping and hopscotch.

Building Bridges is going really well. Being able to view the scanned books on the interactive white board really adds to our enjoyment! This month we have been predicting. We love to predict in all subjects! We visit our local library regularly and look forward to browsing through the shelves searching for our favourite authors. Our favourite book of the month was “The Lamb Who Came For Dinner” and our favourite book in Irish was “An Madra Santach”.

Each week we go to the computer room where we practice our computing and typing skills. We are going to type our report writing in computer class next week. We have just started a project “Around the world in 37 minutes” which will be a project about various countries around the world and we hope to have our project completed very soon! We have so much planned for the year ahead so remember to visit us often to hear all our news!
