Investigating pond life!

3rd Class News 2009
Welcome to the 3rd Class webpage. We have lots of interesting news to share with you. We are hard at work learning new Irish, English and Maths. We have done some lovely art lessons already including hanging bread shapes and sequinned window dressings. We also have made a beautiful coloured peacock for our classroom door. In History/Geography and Science, we are busy learning and doing project work all about Ancient Egypt.
We are lucky to be back swimming in the University of Limerick Sports Arena, which we love!!

In our classroom we have many lovely things. We have a reading corner with beanbags so that we can relax and read in comfort. We all get a turn on these. We also have a puzzle table and we are working together to make a 1,000 piece jigsaw. We go to the computer room every week and also use our class computer and projector for other interesting lessons. As well as all this, we are learning the tinwhistle again. We are practising our scales before we start playing some tunes.
After school activities have started again and we are very lucky to be doing Soccer and Speech and Drama.

We had an afternoon filled with Nature with Geoff Hunt recently. We went to the park and investigated pond life in our wellies and also caught spiders and other insects with our nets. Geoff then showed us a slideshow about butterflies, birds and other Irish animals. It was a great day!

Remember to visit us again soon to see our new pictures and to read all our news. Slán!!
